It is a little frustrating because it's a great concept and for accountability this is the best tool but honestly I think there is a lot of money that they are getting paid and the technology that they are creating crashes a lot probably 80% of the time. I'm talking about the app for the iphone. I'm not trying to be critical in a negative way but they are not implementing/upgrading the browser.

I don't even bother any more. I podcast to have fun... and when podcasting becomes a numbers game, it's not fun anymore... for me.

One thing I need to let you know right off, for some reason, the past few days I've not been able to read and/or listen to the podcast from this page. Maybe it's me & my browser, but when I initially come to the page, I can see what you've posted, but only fleetingly. By the time it's finished booting up, the page becomes blank where your post was. I've had to go to your archive page to be able to see your post & where to click to listen to your podcast.
Anyway, that said, my reaction to your latest podcast. I have to say that I'm fairly new to podcasts in general & honestly was not aware there were awards for them. I would agree though with your assessment if that's how the voting process has been. I think your suggestion on changing the voting process sounds much more fair. Is there a group of people already in place that has been reviewing the nominations/voting & bestowing the awards? Would they be the one to initially approach with your suggestions? I'm curious as to how to effect change in this system.

Thanks for the comments, folks. It's hard not to take sides in this battle. I think there is room in the market for both tablets. I'm not saying Amazon won't make a go for the iPad's market share in the future with a larger, full-featured tablet but I think for now Amazon is happy with 2nd place because that's still a huge portion of the market.

Everyone's been talking about Kindle Fire and how it could finally be iPad's competition but you think otherwise, which I really find interesting. True, Amazon can't beat Apple with features but with accessible content. This I guess is probably what other reviews are missing -- a more in-depth analysis of Kindle Fire.

Thanks, John. I've really been struggling lately with my podcasting and blogging and the reason is because I'mm too fixated on stats. That's what all the top bloggers tell you, right? You have to know your stats so you can recreate that lightning in a bottle from that one post that garnered tons of traffic. I'm done with that. I'm podcasting/blogging for me and on my schedule and if people like what I have to say then the work will get out. Still can't tear my eyes away from those stats, though. ;)
